1. La première stipulerait que ce nom viendrait en fait d'un groupe de musique. En effet, les membres du groupe de rock In A Hurry auraient décidés de donner leur nom à leur boisson préféré qui auparavant s'appelait simplement un Vodka-Peach Schnapps.
2. La deuxième théorie, plus plausible, est que le In A Hurry est un dérivé du sex on the beach. Effectivement, les ingrédients du sex on the beach sont: Vodka, Peach Schnapps et différents jus. Comme on est à la hâte (In A Hurry), on ne prend guère le temps de mettre ces jus de fruits. Le tout se sert -et se boit- alors plus rapidement et est parfait lorsque l'on est pressés.
