Ike Quartey est un boxeur ghanéen né le 27 novembre 1969 à Bukom.

Carrière

Champion d'Afrique des super-légers le 4 mai 1991, il devient champion du monde poids welters WBA le 4 juin 1994 en détrônant Crisanto España par arrêt de l'arbitre à la 11 e reprise[1].

Après 7 défenses victorieuses, Quartey laisse sa ceinture vacante en octobre 1997 afin d'affronter Oscar de la Hoya, titre WBC des welters en jeu. Le combat a lieu le 13 février 1999 au Thomas & Mack Center de Las Vegas et le ghanéen s'incline de peu aux points[2]. Il met un terme à sa carrière en 2006 après deux autres défaites contre Vernon Forrest et Winky Wright.
