Le high side est un type d'accident de moto[1]. Il se déroule en virage quand la moto est en limite d'adhérence, avec une inclinaison maximum. Une remise des gaz un peu trop tôt ou trop importante entraîne une perte d'adhérence du pneu arrière qui aura tendance à glisser, mettant la moto à l'équerre par rapport à sa trajectoire. Dans cette situation quelque peu particulière, le pilote coupe instinctivement les gaz, provoquant de nouveau l'adhérence du pneu arrière, ce qui a pour effet de projeter le pilote dans les airs.
