Haugesund est une ville portuaire sur la côte ouest de la Norvège entre Stavanger et Bergen.

Sommaire

La ville

Haugesund donne sur la mer du Nord mais en grande partie fait face à l'île de Karmøy dont elle est séparée par un bras de mer le Karmsund. Malgré sa petite taille, l'activité économique (pétrole et pêche) explique la présence de nombreux bars et restaurants. Ils font de la ville un centre d'attraction important de la région.

Histoire

Tourisme et culture

  • Chaque année, au mois d'août, a lieu le Festival international du film norvégien.
  • Chaque année, au début du mois d'août a lieu le Festival international de jazz d'Haugesund appelé Sildajazz ; Sild voulant dire hareng en norvégien, c'est une référence à ce qu'était la principal activité économique de la ville avant l'exploitation pétrolière.
