Alcmond de Derby
Alcmond de Derby ou de Lilleshall, également appelé Alcmund, Ealhmund, Alhmund, ou Alchmund († vers 800) est le fils de Alhred de Northumbrie.
Après plus de vingt ans d’exil chez les Pictes suite aux luttes dynastiques de Northumbrie, il revient avec son armée. Il est tué vers 800 certainement par le roi Eardwulf de Northumbrie dans des circonstances non encore élucidées. Quoiqu’il en soit, il est considéré comme un martyr et comme un saint.
Alcmond est inhumé à Lilleshall dans le Shropshire et on rapporte que des miracles ont eu lieu sur sa tombe. Après des pillages dus aux Danois, son corps fut transporté à Derby et de nombreuses églises des environs lui sont consacrées. Le jour de sa fête est fixé au 19 mars.
