Barry Allen est le second personnage à avoir incarné Flash, un super-héros appartenant à l'univers de DC Comics. Il a été créé dans Showcase #4 (1956) quand DC Comics entreprit de moderniser certains personnages, comme Green Lantern.
Histoire
Avant Crisis on Infinite Earths, Barry Allen était le Flash de Terre-I. Ce policier scientifique obtint ses pouvoirs suite à un accident, et s'inspira de Jay Garrick, le Flash de Terre-II, dont les aventures faisaient l'objet d'un comics sur Terre I pour devenir le héros Flash, qui devint membre fondateur de la Ligue de Justice d'Amérique.
Il mourut lors de Crisis on Infinite Earths, et sa succession fut assurée par son neveu Wally West, ancien Kid Flash.
Barry est de retour depuis avril 2009 et "Flash Rebirth". Une malédiction s'attache à lui désormais puisqu'il détruit tous les "speedsters" qu'il touche.
