explodingdog est un site Web américain créé et entretenu par Sam Brown. Les visiteurs du site envoient des mails contenant de petites phrases comme inspiration. Il illustre celles qu'il choisit. Il crée ses dessins en général à l'ordinateur : ils sont de style simple mais engageant et offrent une interprétation poignante et parfois inattendue des phrases sur lesquelles ils sont basés. Brown est très créatif, il peut aussi bien prendre une phrase et l'utiliser en hyperbole ou métaphoriquement, qu'être franchement littéral.
