Aerodrome Flight Information Service

L'AFIS (Aerodrome Flight Information Service) est un service rendu par des agents employés des chambres de commerce et d'industrie (CCI) qui gèrent les aéroports. Les agents AFIS rendent, depuis la tour, des services d'information et d'alerte (jamais de contrôle).

L'AFIS :

  • donne des informations sur la sécurité et la bonne conduite des vols,
  • donne des informations sur la présence d'autres aéronefs au voisinage de l'aérodrome,
  • apporte les instructions et des informations aux aéronefs circulant sur les aires de manœuvre,
  • assiste les pilotes dans la prévention des collisions entre avions, véhicules et tout autre obstacle,
  • fournit des renseignements météorologiques (vent, visibilité, température, QNH) et des informations sur les conditions d'aérodrome (piste en service).
