Edward Forrest Moore (23 novembre 1925 à Baltimore, Maryland – 14 juin 2003 à Madison, Wisconsin) est un docteur et professeur de mathématiques et d’informatique à l’Université du Wisconsin-Madison. Il est l’inventeur de la Machine de Moore.
Il a travaillé sur les automates finis (ou machines à états finis) notamment avec Claude Shannon et sur la calculabilité.
Publications
Durant la période où il a travaillé aux Laboratoires Bell, il a écrit « Variable Length Binary Encodings », « The Shortest Path Through a Maze », « A simplified universal Turing machine », et « Complete Relay Decoding Networks ».
