Doriath est un royaume fictif de la Terre du Milieu de l'écrivain britannique J. R. R. Tolkien.
Il se situe en Beleriand dans les forêts de Neldoreth et de Region, sa capitale est Menegroth sur l'Esgalduin. Il est gouverné par le roi Thingol et la reine Melian qui le protège des forces de Morgoth grâce à une « frontière magique » et impénétrable, l'Anneau de Melian.
Durant la mise à sac et la prise de Menegroth par les Nains, Thingol est tué. Son héritier Dior Eluchíl en devient roi, et c'est alors que se réveille le serment des fils de Fëanor qui veulent récupérer le Silmaril de Doriath. Ils mettent à sac Doriath et tuent Dior, mais Elwing réussit à sauver le Silmaril.
Notes
La fin de l'histoire de Doriath est assez floue, Tolkien n'étant jamais parvenu à reprendre précisément le Conte du Nauglamír (racontant l'histoire du collier des Nains), publié en l'état dans Le Livre des contes perdus.
