Chimo est le pseudonyme d'un écrivain contemporain qui a jusqu'ici refusé de dévoiler son vrai nom. Sa prose brute et orale est aussi très finement maîtrisée, ce qui alimente les spéculations : s'agit-il bien d'un beur vingtenaire habitant une cité de banlieue, ou Chimo est-il le nom de plume d'un écrivain célèbre ? On a par exemple avancé à ce sujet les noms de Vincent Ravalec ou encore d'Olivier Orban, l'éditeur).
Le roman Lila dit ça raconte l'histoire d'un jeune beur fasciné par une Gauloise, une jolie jeune fille libérée.
