Le Centre for the new Europe est un think tank basé à Bruxelles. Situé à proximité de la Commission européenne, il agit en faveur d'une politique économique libérale.
Selon les rapports annuels d'Exxon Mobil, Le CNE a été financé par la multinationale à hauteur de 40 000$ en 2003 et 80 000$ en 2004 en vertu des efforts d'éducation au changement climatique.
La contestation de l'origine humaine du réchauffement climatique mais également de la réalité même d'un réchauffement durable de la planète fait en effet partie des nombreuses positions prises par l'institut dans ses communications.
