Synopsis

Arizona, 1908. Abandonné lâchement dans le désert par ses partenaires, Cable Hogue semble condamné à une mort certaine. Après plusieurs jours de marche et de prières, il découvre un point d'eau in extrémis, à l'instant même où il s'apprêtait à rendre l'âme. Réalisant peu après qu'un circuit de diligence passe à proximité et que cette source est la seule dans les environs, Cable décide de s'installer sur place et d'en faire commerce. Son premier client est un révérend pas ordinaire...
