Synopsis

Christabel Caine dissimule sous une trompeuse apparence sa soif d'argent et de pouvoir. À San Francisco, elle épouse Curtis, un millionnaire, malgré son amour pour Nick, un romancier. Devant la tristesse de son mariage, elle tente de reconquérir Nick qui finalement la repousse, comprenant qu'elle ne quittera jamais son riche mari. Elle retourne alors auprès de celui-ci. Mais Curtis la quitte en apprenant son infidélité...
