The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack est le premier album du groupe The Nice, sorti fin 1967. Il est généralement considéré comme l'un des albums précurseurs du rock progressif. Le groupe qui avait jadis été créé pour soutenir une chanteuse noire américaine transfuge du " Ike and Tina Turner Revue ", P.P. Arnold, s'est rapidement démarqué de sa tâche première et a pris ses distances pour enregistrer leur premier album sous leur propre nom, The Nice venait ainsi de faire ses marques avec ce disque.
Le nom « Emerlist Davjack » est composé à partir des noms de famille des quatre membres du groupe : Keith Emerson, modifier] Titres
Dans la version originale de l'album, toutes les chansons étaient créditées à « Emerlist Davjack ».
