Shutterstock est un microstock qui offre des photographies et des clips sans redevance, mais soumis aux termes de l'une des deux licences proposées par la société (standard ou supérieure)[1]. Chaque photographie proposée peut être obtenue par abonnement limité ou sur demande[2]. Les visiteurs du site peuvent visualiser gratuitement la collection complète du site. En avril 2010, la société se targuait d'offrir plus de 10 millions de photographies[2].
