Second Contribution est un album de Shawn Philips enregistré en 1970. C'est son enregistrement le plus populaire, particulièrement en France où il fut longtemps le seul disque de son auteur a y être commercialisé sous forme de compact disc (chez A&M records en 1988). Il est composé d'une douzaine de chansons. La première face de l'album est un medley de plus de vingt minutes construit comme un long crescendo. Le premier morceau débute par la voix a cappela de Shawn Philips et le dernier s'achève avec un groupe rock accompagné d'un orchestre de cordes et de plusieurs cuivres. La seconde face est d'une tonalité plus folk et intimiste.
