Sambhaji Raje Bhosle (14 mai 1657 – 11 mars 1689) est le fils ainé de Shivaji, le fondateur de l'empire marathe. Il lui succède en tant que Chhatrapati. Poète à ses heures, il fut capturé alors qu'il défendait l'empire et fut torturé puis exécuté par Aurangzeb.
Sambhaji a exécuté l’employé Anaji Datto à la fin du XVIIe siècle en le faisant écraser sous un éléphant[1].
