Le Recueil de la falaise bleue
Le Recueil de la falaise bleue (en mandarin Biyan lu ou, selon d'autres transcriptions, Pi-yen-lu 碧巖錄) est le plus ancien recueil de gong’an de la littérature chan. Une première compilation de cent kōan, établie au début du XIe siècle par Xuedou Chongxian (ou Hsueh-tou ch'ung-hsien, 雪竇重顯 980-1052), maître du chan de l'école Yun men (雲門). Elle fut reprise, dans la première moitié du XIIe siècle par le maître du chan Yuanwu Keqin (ou Yuan-wu K’o-ch’in, 圜悟克勤 1063-1135), maître de la lignée Yangqi de l’école Linji, originaire du Sichuan (Chine), qui y ajouta des remarques, annotations et explications. Les manuscrits ayant presque tous été brûlés sur ordre d'un successeur de Yuanwu, le texte fut presque entièrement reconstitué au début du XIVe siècle.
