Physeter microps est un binôme latin utilisé par deux auteurs différents pour décrire deux espèces différentes dans le genre Physeter et peut donc désigner :
- Physeter microps Linnaeus, 1758, taxon aujourd'hui considéré comme synonyme de P. macrocephalus : le grand cachalot ;
- Physeter microps Fabricius, 1780, taxon aujourd'hui considéré comme synonyme de Orcinus orca : l'orque.
