Jacques Almain (mort en 1515) était un éminent professeur de théologie à l'Université de Paris. Né dans le diocèse de Sens, Il étudia les arts au Collège de Montaigu de l'Université de Paris et fut l'élève du théologien écossais John Mair.
Almain applique les thèses du conciliarisme dans une réflexion politique plus large où la souverainté ne peut être dessaisie complètement du corps politique au profit du roi. Il a écrit Petit livre sur l'autorité de l'Église en 1512.
