Glyptotherium est un genre éteint de mammifères proche du tatou. Ce genre est un exemple de la mégafaune nord-américaine, dont beaucoup d’espèces ont aujourd’hui disparus.

Glyptotherium a du s’éteindre à cause d’un changement climatique ou de la présence de l’homme. Glyptotherium texanum s'est éteinte il y a environ 12 000 ans[1].
