Fashion victim

Une fashion victim (« Victime de la mode » en anglais) ou fashionista (terme anglo-hispanique) est une personne qui, d'après Oscar de la Renta, généralement considéré comme le créateur du terme[1], est incapable d'identifier les frontières communément admises des styles.

Les fashion victims sont des victimes parce qu'elles sont vulnérables au faddishness[Quoi ?] (ne vit que suivant les modes) et au matérialisme, les deux excès couramment reconnus de la mode, et sont donc à la merci des préjugés de la société, des intérêts commerciaux de l'industrie de la mode, ou des deux à la fois. D'après Versace, « Lorsque une femme change trop souvent de saison en saison son apparence, elle devient une victime de la mode. »[2]
