Dudley Seers

Dudley Seers (1920-1983) est un économiste britannique du XXe siècle spécialiste de l'économie du développement. Il enseigna à l'université d'Oxford puis travailla au sein de plusieurs institutions des Nations Unis. Il dirigea également l'Institute of Development Studies (institut des études sur le développement) de l'université du Sussex de 1967 à 1972.

Seers est notamment connu pour avoir remplacé le « fétichisme de la croissance » des premières années d'après-guerre par un plus grand intérêt pour le développement social. Il insista aussi sur la relativité des jugements en matière de développement et remis en cause l'approche néoclassique de l'économie.
