Cyrus Guernsey Pringle (6 mai 1838 - 25 mai 1911) est un botaniste américain qui a passé 35 ans en répertoriant les plantes d'Amérique du Nord, et tout particulièrement celles du Mexique. Il est un des cinq premiers botanistes de l'histoire pour le nombre de nouvelle espèces découvertes : approximativement 1200 espèces, 100 variétés, 39 genres, et quatre hybrides.
