Children of Steel est le deuxième album démo du groupe de power metal allemand Edguy, publié en 1994 quand les membres n'avaient que seize ans. En comparaison avec le premier démo, le son du groupe s'est amélioré et le chant de Tobias Sammet ressemble beaucoup plus à ses futures performances et est devenu plus mélodique.
La chanson "Final gate" a apparu d'une version modifiée sous le titre "Deadmaker" sur l'album Kingdom of Madness. La chanson "Children of steel" a été réenregistré et très légèrement modifié pour la section bonus de l'album Hellfire Club dix ans plus tard.
La chansons "Das Reh" (le cerf) est jusqu'aujourd'hui la seule chanson allemande d'Edguy. Les paroles sont assez simples et basées sur un poème ridicule de l'humoriste allemand Heinz Erhardt.
