Assyria TV (Assyrie TV), anciennement connu sous le nom The Hujada TV project ou Hujåda TV project[1], est une chaîne de télévision assyrienne ayant pour vocation la diffusion de programmes via web-TV. Les studios d'Assyria TV sont basés à Stockholm, en Suède. Le projet étant financé par l'ensemble des fédérations assyriennes de Suède[2]. La chaîne est actuellement en construction.
Contexte
Suite à une décision commune des différentes associations assyriennes de Suède, le projet qui était évoqué depuis déjà un certain temps a finalement été lancé. L'objectif d'Assyria TV est de créer une nouvelle plate-forme média assyrienne qui pourrait atteindre l'ensemble du peuple assyro-chaldéen-syriaque(araméen) dans toutes ses composantes. Le nouveau projet a dans un premier temps été nommé "Hujada TV" (littéralement "Union TV") et un plan financier avait été établi pour ainsi remplir les conditions nécessaires à l'exécution du projet. Plusieurs groupes de soutien ont également été formés pour venir en aide au groupe de projet. L'un des facteurs à l'origine de cet effort était le fait que les fédérations considéraient les chaînes de télévision assyro-chaldéenne-syriaques déjà existantes comme étant dans l'incapacité de renforcer le mouvement assyrien et de préserver la culture assyrienne ainsi que sa langue, l'assyrien néo-araméen, plusieurs fois millénaire.

"Pendant de nombreuses années au sein des fédérations assyriennes de Suède et d'Europe, une discussion à propos de la nécessité de développer une plate-forme média au sein de notre peuple existait. Les Assyriens sont de plus en plus familiers avec les nouvelles technologies et il existe aujourd'hui un large éventail de sites Web et d'agences de nouvelles. Pour une population dispersée à travers le monde, ces technologies modernes sont très importantes et permettent de rassembler les foules et de créer ainsi ensemble une opinion publique forte."
