Alexander Helwig Wyant, est né le 11 janvier 1836 dans l'Ohio et mort le 29 novembre 1892 à New York. Il était un peintre américain spécialisé dans les paysages. Il travailla notamment à Arkville et Keene Valley (New York). Ses premières peintures se rapprochent de Hudson River School.
