Wellsford est une ville située au nord de l'île du Nord de la Nouvelle-Zélande. C'est la ville la plus au nord de la région d'Auckland et se trouve à 75 km au nord ouest de la ville d'Auckland.

Wellsford se situe à 15 km de la côte de l'océan Pacifique

Bien que sa population ne soit que de 1 740 habitants (recensement de 2001), la ville joue un rôle régional important, en étant situé à la jonction entre les autoroutes (State Highway) 1 et 16. Wellsford est également située à égale distance entre Auckland et la ville de Whangarei, la ville la plus importante de la région du Northland.
