Une nuit extravagante (Unaccustomed As We Are) est une comédie sortie le 4 mai 1929 mettant en scène Laurel et Hardy. Le film est réalisé par Lewis R. Foster et Hal Roach. Le film commence par une nouveauté pour les films du duo comique puisqu'Oliver Hardy prononce alors les premières répliques de sa carrière : « And we'll have a nice thick steak, smothered with onions... » — « Et nous allons prendre une belle tranche fine de steak cuite avec des oignons », alors que Stan Laurel répond « Any nuts? » — « Avec des noix ? »[1].

Le titre anglais Unaccustomed as we are signifie « Non habitués que nous sommes » et est alors souvent complété en « Non habitués que nous sommes à parler en public », Unaccustomed as we are to public speaking[1]

Synopsis

Hardy invite Laurel a manger chez lui mais sa femme refuse de cuisiner pour les deux hommes et quitte la maison. La voisine du couple Hardy, madame Kennedy, propose alors de préparer les repas pour les deux compères mais la situation dégénère quand ses habits prennent feu.
