Tyrone Downie est un claviériste, pianiste et organiste jamaïcain né en 1957, résidant actuellement en France.
Il commence très jeune par jouer de l'orgue à l'église, puis fait partie des Wailers qui accompagnent Bob Marley jusqu'à sa mort en 1981.
Il a également joué avec Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Sly & Robbie, Tiken Jah Fakoly[1], Lauryn Hill, Youssou N'Dour, Tom Tom Club, les Neg'Marrons, Alpha Blondy, Ben Harper, Tonton David[2], Abdou Day.
Il a produit et composé pour un grand nombre de groupes : Israel Vibration[3], Baster[4], Tonton David, Neg'Marrons, Youssou N'Dour, Alpha Blondy[5], et a notamment remixé Sergent Garcia (titre Medecine Man).
