Toyama (富山市, Toyama-shi?) est la capitale de la préfecture de Toyama au Japon. La ville est située sur les côtes de la mer du Japon sur l'île d'Honshū, à 200 km au nord de Nagoya et 300 km au nord-ouest de Tōkyō.

La ville de Toyama était la capitale de la province d'Etchū. La ville moderne a été fondée le 1er avril 1889.

En 2010, la ville avait une population de 420 250 habitants pour une densité de 338 hab/km2. La superficie totale de la ville est de 1 241,85 km2.

Le 20 mars 2010, la ville a lancé avec JCDecaux son service cyclocity (シクロシティ, shikuroshiti?) avec 150 vélos sur 15 stations[1]. Les tarifs sont : abonnement annuel à 8 400 ¥ (69 €), mensuel à 700 ¥ (6 €) ou hebdomadaire à 1 000 ¥ (8 €)[2]. La première demi-heure est gratuite, la deuxième demi-heure est à 200 ¥ (2 €), les ½ heures supplémentaires suivantes sont à 500 ¥ (4 €)[2]. Les possesseurs de la carte à puce sans contact de transport passca (en) bénéficient d'un abonnement annuel à 6 000 ¥ (49 €) ou mensuel à 500 ¥ (4 €)[2].
