"Them Bones" est la première chanson de l'album Dirt d'Alice in Chains. Le chanteur Layne Staley a apporté au guitariste/auteur Jerry Cantrell d'inquiétante paroles avec sa vie sinistre, à tour de rôle et hurlant la voix. La chanson est très chromatique, et la signature de temps est de 7/8--sauf pour chaque chœur, lesquels sont en 4/4. Brutale et sombre, elle donne le ton pour l'album et est peut-être une des œuvres de la bande les plus définitives.
