La Forteresse noire
La Forteresse noire est un film fantastique américain réalisé par Michael Mann en 1983. C'est une adaptation d'un roman (éponyme) de Francis Paul Wilson.
Synopsis
En Roumanie en avril 1941, une troupe de soldats allemands prend possession d'une forteresse bien que son gardien les mette en garde sur une présence surnaturelle en son sein. 108 croix en nickel sont accrochées au mur. Les soldats, pensant qu'elles sont en argent, en détachent une et libèrent une créature qui chaque nuit tuera les soldats. Une garnison SS débarque en renfort, persuadée que les morts sont dues à des partisans. Le capitaine de la troupe fait appel à un professeur juif infirme, le docteur Cuza, pour résoudre l'énigme contre l'avis du chef SS, le major Kaempffer. Cuza pactise avec la créature qui lui redonne force et vigueur en échange de son aide. Pensant agir ainsi contre les troupes allemandes et aveuglé, il apporte son soutien au Mal de l'humanité. C'est alors qu'intervient un étranger...
Autour du film
- Le superviseur des effets spéciaux visuels, Wally Veevers, décède pendant le tournage, ce qui entraînera des retards et des plans mal truqués.
- Ce film fut remonté par les producteurs dans une version courte rejetée par son réalisateur.
- Il n'est jamais sorti en DVD en France.
