Originaire du Michigan, The Black Dahlia Murder est un groupe de metalcore/death metal des États-Unis. Le nom du groupe est inspiré du meurtre non résolu d'une jeune actrice américaine, Elizabeth Short, surnommée Le Dahlia noir, en 1947.
Le groupe a composé cinq albums, Unhallowed en 2003, Miasma en 2005, Nocturnal en 2007, Deflorate en 2009 et Ritual en 2011 sous le label Metal Blade Records.
