Silk & Soul est un album de la chanteuse, pianiste, compositeur Nina Simone (1933-2003).

- "It Be's That Way Sometimes", morceau écrit par Sam Waymon, le frère de Nina Simone.
- "The Look of Love", un morceau de Burt Bacharach écrit à l'origine pour le film Casino Royale (1967).
- "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free", écrit par Billy Taylor et que Nina Simone a enregistré la première. Plus tard ce morceau sera enregistré par Solomon Burke et Ray Charles. il est considéré comme un hymne des Droits civiques.
- "Turning Point" semble à première écoute être un chant qui parle d'un enfant qui se fait un nouvel ami mais qui en fait pose la question des origines du racisme. Les paroles sont de Martha Holmes.
- "Connsumation" est une chanson d'amour écrite par Nina Simone qui utilise un thème classique de Bach.
