Shadowgraph

Le Shadowgraph est une méthode optique qui consiste à exposer sous une lumière des volumes transparents (gaz, liquide, verre) afin de récupérer l'ombre des diffractions et de les dessiner.

Le résultat de l'utilisation d'un shadowgraph est appelé shadogramme.


Le Shadowgraph a été utilisé dans l'animation afin d'améliorer le réalisme des dessins animés. L'une des premières utilisations a été réalisée par les studios Disney sur le court métrage Three Blind Mouseketeers (1936) Silly Symphonies[1].
