Les Royal Scots Greys. Le 2ème Régiment écossais de dragons, dont les origines remontent à 1678, est amalgamé en 1971 au 3rd Carabiniers (Prince of Wales’ Dragoons Guards) pour former le Royal Scots Dragoons Guards (Carabiniers and Greys).
Il participe aux guerres napoléoniennes. À Waterloo en 1815 il capture l'Aigle du 45ème régiment de ligne français. Depuis, l'aigle impérial napoléonien est intégré à l'insigne du régiment.
Il combat en Crimée en 1854.
Les Greys combattent en Afrique du Sud en 1899-1902 et sur le front occidental pendant la Première Guerre mondiale.
Il combat en Syrie en 1941, en Afrique du Nord en 1941-42, en Italie en 1943 et participe à la campagne d'Allemagne depuis la Normandie en 1944-45.
