- Bryozoa lato sensu (Ehrenberg, 1831), un ancien embranchement, aujourd'hui obsolète, censé regrouper ectoproctes et entoproctes. Ce rapprochement est invalidé par la plupart des études de phylogénie moléculaire (on notera qu'une étude récente propose de le réhabiliter[1] alors que d'autres confirment la polyphylie du groupe[2]).
- Bryozoa stricto sensu, souvent utilisé comme synonyme pour Ectoprocta.
Polyzoa (John Vaughan Thompson, 1830) est un synonyme de Bryozoa lato sensu.
