Planet-Crossing Asteroid Survey
Le programme Palomar Planet Crossing Asteroid Survey (PCAS) a été lancé par Eleanor F. Helin et Eugene M. Shoemaker en 1973. Ce programme est à l'origine de la découverte de plusieurs milliers d'astéroïdes de tous types dont un grand nombre d'astéroïdes géocroiseurs (NEA en anglais), plus de 200 objets ayant une forte inclinaison, quelques astéroïdes ayant des orbites très inhabituelles et de 20 comètes. PCAS se poursuivit pendant presque 25 ans jusqu'en juin 1995. C'est le prédécesseur immédiat du programme Near Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT).
