Phan Huy Le, né en 1934, est un historien vietnamien. Il a fait ses études à l’université nationale supérieure de Hanoï et il est devenu assistant à la faculté d’histoire de l’université de Hanoï. Il y a continué ses études pendant 32 ans, puis tint la chaire à l’université nationale de Hanoï.
Il est le principal représentant des historiens vietnamiens. Il se consacre à l’étude sur l’histoire socio-économique du Viêt-nam. Son étude lui permet de mettre en théorie et renouveler l’histoire vietnamienne. En plus il a contribué à la formation des historiens dans son pays natal et à l'étranger.
