Un paralégal ou adjoint juridique[1] est un personnel administratif qui travaille sous la responsabilité directe d'un juriste.
De plus en plus d'offres d'emploi françaises utilisent le terme paralégal pour désigner leur cible, citation ou lien, et ce mot est en passe de détrôner ses équivalents français.[citation nécessaire]
Le personnel paralégal se trouve dans tous les domaines où l'on trouve des juristes, par exemple : droit pénal, immobilier, administration.
En France, ils n'ont pas de statut particulier, à l'inverse par exemple des États-Unis, où ils sont regroupés en plusieurs associations et fédérations.
