Ōmuta (大牟田市 -shi) est une ville du Japon située dans la préfecture de Fukuoka sur l'île de Kyûshû.

En mars 2006, la ville avait une population de 133 802 habitants (61 249 hommes et 72 553 femmes). La densité de population d'Ōmuta est de 1654,49 hab/km². La ville s'étend sur 81,55 km².

La ville d'Ōmuta a montée une industrie lourde basée sur le charbon des mines de Miike qui a été extrait de 1860 à 1997.

La ville a été fondée le 1er mars 1917.

En 2009, le maire est Michio Koga.
