L'apoditerium ou apodyterium est la pièce la plus richement décorée des thermes romains car c'est un passage obligé, première étape du parcours de l'utilisateur dans le circuit thermal.
Cette salle constitue un vestiaire disposant de nombreuses niches au sein des murs, où l'on déposait ses effets personnels. Cette pièce était gardée par des esclaves du fait des vols relativement fréquents.
