Le minstrel show, ou minstrelsy, était un spectacle américain créé vers la fin des années 1820, où figuraient chants, danses, musique, intermèdes comiques, interprétés d'abord par des acteurs blancs qui se noircissaient le visage, puis, surtout après la Guerre de Sécession, par des noirs eux-mêmes.
Les Noirs de ces spectacles apparaissaient comme ignorants, stupides, superstitieux, joyeux, et doués pour la danse et la musique. Les acteurs professionnels délaissèrent le genre vers 1910, mais des amateurs le firent durer jusque dans les années 1950. La montée de la lutte contre le racisme les fit disparaitre définitivement.
