Manchan est un nom propre qui désigne au moins un saint catholique :

  • Manchan (+ vers 653 ou 664), abbé du monastère de Liath-Manchain, co. Offaly, en Irlande ; saint catholique fêté le 24 janvier[1]. La tradition rapporte qu'il avait une vache qui fournissait en lait tout le monastère. Cette remarque veut peut-être dire que les moines, fort nombreux dans les monastères du VIIème siècle, ne buvaient que peu de lait les jours sans jeûne.
