Alexander Klimov est un cryptologue. Il a fait sa thèse sur les « applications cryptographiques des fonctions-T», sous la direction de Adi Shamir, au sein du département de mathématiques appliquées et d'informatique de l'Institut Weizmann à Rehovot en Israël, soutenue en mars 2005.
Il a aussi participé au papier « Analysis of Neural Cryptography » qui étudie l'utilisation de réseaux de neurones dans le cadre d'un échange de clés. La cryptographie neuronale s'avère au final une technique peu sûre.
