RaBad (ou Ravad, ou Raavad) est l'acronyme par lequel furent connus trois rabbins, sommités en leurs temps, dont RaBad III fut le plus célèbre. RaBaD I s'étant également illustré comme philosophe, avec toutefois moins de succès, il arriva qu'on attribue aux uns les écrits de l'autre, ce qui amenait parfois à des contresens fâcheux lors de l'étude.
Il s'agit, respectivement, de :
- Abraham ibn Dawd Halevi, Rabbenou Avraham Ben David (Cordoue, 1110 - Tolède, 1180), médecin, historien et philosophe, auteur du Sefer ha-Qabala (un traité d'histoire) et d'Emouna Rama (un classique de la philosophie juive soupesant la doctrine aristotélicienne, rapidement surclassé en son temps même par le Guide des Égarés de Moïse Maïmonide.
- Abraham Ben Itzhak, Rabbenou Avraham Av Bet Din (Montpellier, 1110 - Narbonne, 1179), kabbaliste
- Abraham ben David de Posquières, Rabbenou Avraham Ben David (Narbonne en 1120 - Posquières, 1197), kabbaliste et philosophe, auteur de nombreux ouvrages, grand critique de Moïse Maïmonide.
