La tambin est une flûte peule dont l’embouchure latérale légèrement proéminente en fait un intermédiaire entre la flûte traversière et la flûte droite ; c'est une flûte oblique diatonique avec trois trous de jeu. Cet instrument est joué en Afrique occidentale.
