Le Stanford Financial Group est un conglomérat américain contrôlant un ensemble d'entreprises fournissant des services financiers à environ 30 000 clients[1]. Détenu à titre privé, son siège est à Houston, États-Unis et maintient des comptoirs dans 136 pays sur six continents[2]. Elle est dirigée par Sir Robert Allen Stanford[note 1], un financier milliardaire[3]. Le siège supervise la gestion d'environ 50 milliards USD d'actifs.

Le 17 février 2009, des agents fédéraux américains ont mis sous tutelle l'entreprise suite à des allégations de fraude[4],[5].
